► What Is Moissanite?
● Moissanite is a rare, naturally occurring mineral also known as silicon carbide, which was first discovered by the Nobel Prize-winning chemist, Dr. Henri Moissan, at the site of a massive meteorite strike in Arizona. This intriguing new stone was named “moissanite” in his honor.
● It wasn’t until the late 90s that scientists–working in a research laboratory located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina–developed the innovative thermal growing process that creates silicon carbide crystals. These crystals are fashioned into moissanite gemstones that rival any natural gemstone for fire and brilliance. These man-made gems are more durable than any other popular gemstone such as diamond, sapphire, ruby or emerald.
► About Moissanite Characteristics
● Moissanite is comparable to other popular gemstones including diamond, ruby, sapphire and emerald on key characteristics such as hardness, fire and brilliance. On the Brilliance Refractive Index, moissanite is more brilliant than any other gemstone, ranging from 2.65-2.69 on the scale. Its fire dispersion is over 4x greater than any other popular gemstone. On the MOHs hardness scale, moissanite comes in second only to a diamond, measuring at 9.25. In addition, moissanite's durability is excellent, meaning it will survive daily wear and tear.
► Can I Consider Moissanite As An Engagement Ring?
● There is no reason why you can’t consider moissanite as an engagement ring. It is grown in labs, so you know that the entire process is extremely ethical unlike blood diamonds. If you can’t afford expensive gemstones that deprecate in value as soon as you purchase them, then getting moissanite is the way to go about.
► Does Moissanite Have A Certiflcate
● Each Moissanite comes with an independently coded certificate, and we also support you to visit your local national laboratory for testing.
● Since GRA is a third party inspection structure based in Hong Kong, and because moissanite produces much more than diamonds and at a faster rate, it is quite normal to have a delay in the number query. We recommend you to follow the diamond test on site.
► Are Lab-Grown Gemstones As Durable As Mined Gemstones?
● Yes. In fact, lab created stones are more durable because they have fewer inclusions than most of their mined counterparts. For lab grown gems, 80% of the rough parts are cut away to deliver near a “flawless” piece. The hardness of lab created stones are exactly the same as their mined counterparts.
► Are Lab Created Gemstones Real or Artificial?
● Lab-grown gemstones are cultured just like you would culture a pearl. Natural ingredients are placed in an environment created to duplicate nature. Once the required combination of chemical and environmental factors is created, gemstone crystals grow over the course of about a year (the exact length of time depends on the variety). As a result, the crystals grown have physical, chemical, and optical properties that are identical to those found in nature.
► What Size Should I Order?
● BRACELET/BANGLE - I always recommend ordering a size that is .5 to 1 inch larger than your actual wrist size. For example, if your wrist is 5 inches then I’d order a 5.5 or 6 inch bangle/bracelet.We can provide a sizing chart for both bracelets and necklaces for reference upon request.
● NECKLACE – All sizes are in inches and the size includes both CHARM + CHAIN combined to equal the length.
● RINGS – Please try to get your finger sized if you do not know your ring size. Any local jewelry store or department store can size your finger in a few minutes time. For any ring size conversion needs please refer to www.ringsizes.co for a conversion chart.
► Will The Product Fade?
Frankly speaking, all gold-plated products will fade and have a life span, which depends on your environment and how you use them. DUZAI's product is made of 925 silver plated white gold, which may turn dark and black after a period of use. This is the normal oxidation of silver. You only need to wipe it with a soft cloth or a soft toothbrush. Other electroplated gold/rose gold products, please be careful not to wear when bathing or swimming, to extend the service life.
► How To Care For My Jewelry?
● Sterling Silver jewelry is meant for everyday wear, while cleaning and caring for your silver is simple. You can either use a small amount of toothpaste and a soft cloth to clean your Sterling Silver. Or you can use any Sterling Silver cleaning solution that can be found at any major retail department store.
● If you do not plan on wearing the jewelry for long periods of time, it is ideal to store it in a zip bag or an air-tight container separate from other jewelry with the silica pouch inside the box.
